ChatBHT Development Notes#

Students already use commercial AI for academic work. ChatBHT was developed to provide equitable access through a university-run service, with institutional responsibility for data, usage rules and budgets.

Technology Selection#

to vibe#

/tə vaɪb/verb · informal · in software development

Vibing here means developing software in dialogue with AI: expressing intent in language, generating code, evaluating and refining the result.

Taste becomes code.

As coding intelligence gets cheaper and more available, the durable factors are not raw coding output.

What still matters:

  • product taste
  • direction
  • system design
  • human trust
  • operational stability
  • judgment about what to build next

In that world, the job of the human is not to out-type the machine. The job of the human is to decide what deserves to exist.

Development Timeline#

First ideas in March 2025. GWDG API access in April 2025 marked the start of implementation, guided by the SAIA API documentation.

ChatBHT Development Timeline from April 2025 to September 2026: application milestones, integrated technologies, OpenAI releases and approximate coding model usage.
